A big thank you to all my customers. I thought you might like to see a selection of the flowers I sent out for Mothering Sunday. I have had some lovely emails and phone calls thanking me which has made me feel really special and made the hard work worthwhile. So thank you for supporting me and British flowers. Also I have been able to send a cheque to Nelsons Journey a Norwich based charity for bereaved children as I made a donation for each posy sold.
I used my own Narcissus, Wallflowers, Hellebores and Tulips....Ranunculus, Narcissus and Pussy Willow from Cornwall and Hellebores from Somerleyton. I was really pleased with the results and I am so glad you were.
I also sent flowers by post, flowers by post is an option if you wish to send locally grown flowers to friends and family who live further a field.
I love Grape Hyacinths/ Muscari and like to use them in buttonholes, jam jar posies and table decorations.I also have pots of them for sale in time for Mother's Day.
They are planted as bulbs in the autumn and naturalise and multiply readily in my garden. I grow the more usual blue but they do come in white and I am considering them for next year as they would be a good alternative for
I grow cottage garden flowers. Many of the varieties are things you don't find in florist's shops, supermarkets and other places selling flowers. This includes Wallflowers, Sweet Rocket, Honesty, Forget Me Nots, Verbena Bonariensis and Cosmos along with other cottage garden favourites such as scented Narcissus, Larkspur, Sunflowers, Dahlias and garden Roses. My posies contain flowering shrubs for example Forsyth, Winter Jasmine and Honeysuckle.
The flowers I use are true garden flowers in that they are grown in my garden. At busy times I top them up with other British grown flowers.
The result is unique, scented posies, bunches and bouquets which bring a country garden into your home or business or to decorate your event. What could be nicer!
I am getting sorted for Mother's Day which is a huge day in the florist's year. I make my bouquets band posies from my own flowers topped up with flowers from other British growers. So truly British and very seasonal....which means I can't tell you exactly what is going to be in them. I am expecting there to be Daffodils and other Narcissus, Pussy Willow, Alstromeria, Wallflowers, Tulips .....but once I know for sure I will let you know. I make large and medium sized bouquets in water plus smaller jam jar size posies....see the dedicated page for more information. I deliver to people in Reydon, Southwold and surrounding area as a matter of routine but if you love my flowers and would like them delivered elsewhere please contact me and we can discuss the options. Also I am making a donation from each bouquet, posy or bunch sold to Nelson's Journey which is a Norwich based charity for bereaved children.
Of course Mother's Day comes on top of a very busy time in the garden. I have started a little seed sowing and am preparing beds, ordering plants etc etc....Happy days!
I am cutting Daffodils and some lovely scented Narcissus and these are selling well. They are easy to post so if you would like some Southwold flowers posted to you please let me know.
My story in flowers started as a child growing a tiny patch of London Pride Saxifraga...also known as Whimsey or Look Up and Kiss Me! Fast forward to 8 years ago when I started a City and Guilds training in floristry. I qualified as a florist and then to deepen my growing knowledge and skills I trained in horticulture as well. I trained under a WRAGS scheme at Darsham Nurseries and at Somerleyton Hall. Developing a passion for both growing and designing/arranging British garden flowers, I planted a cutting garden. Having become increasingly concerned about where and how flowers are grown, coupled with a love of British grown flowers. and natural styling, I now specialise in growing and using beautiful British grown flowers to make romantic natural designs. for weddings, events, gifts and much more.
